Lotto Max: Alberta Ticket Wins Canada’s Record C$90 Million
Published

Canada's record C$90 million Lotto Max jackpot was won in Alberta in the draw on Tuesday, 20 October 2026. Play Alberta confirmed that the winning entry was bought through its online platform, making it the largest prize won there as well as a Canadian record.
A small group from the Calgary area appeared to hold the winning entry, according to Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC) information reported by Global News. That account was preliminary. Play Alberta's announcement on 21 October said winner details would be shared as they became available; it did not name the recipients.
The main numbers were 08, 15, 19, 23, 26, 28 and 34. The bonus number was 38, as recorded in the Western Canada Lottery Corporation's results.
What the previous record actually included
The earlier Canadian payout record was about C$80.4 million. OLG's announcement identified it more precisely as C$80,403,285.40, shared by two friends from London, Ontario, following the 30 December 2025 draw.
Their total combined a C$80 million jackpot with C$403,285.40 in second-prize winnings through Combination Play. It was not a C$80.4 million jackpot. The Alberta win therefore surpassed both the earlier jackpot and that combined payout.
How Lotto Max reached C$90 million
Lotto Max is a Canadian national lottery drawn on Tuesdays and Fridays. The jackpot cap rose from C$80 million to C$90 million for the 14 April 2026 draw, WCLC says.
Under the current format, a C$6 play contains four selections of seven numbers from 1 to 52. Matching all seven main numbers on one selection wins or shares the jackpot. The bonus number is used in lower prize categories.
