FDJ Review: Official Entries, Prices and Withdrawals
Published

FDJ's online lottery service sells official entries in French lottery games. It is not an international courier and does not merely accept bets on another company's results. France's regulator, the Autorité nationale des jeux, identifies FDJ as the holder of the monopoly covering lottery games online and at retail.
For the reader, the first practical boundary is residency. A French-language website is accessible to many people who cannot open an eligible account. FDJ's published conditions define the accepted French territories and Monaco, alongside identity and banking requirements. French citizenship alone is not a substitute for the required residence.
FDJ in brief
- Model: Official lottery entries through an FDJ account
- Operator: La Française des Jeux
- Authority: French lottery monopoly under ANJ oversight
- Standard prices: Loto €2.20; EuroMillions with My Million €2.50
- Withdrawals: Eligible winnings paid to a registered bank account
How it works
- Check the residence and banking conditions before creating an account.
- Complete the requested identity details and verification.
- Fund the account using an available supported method.
- Choose the game, entries, options and draw or subscription duration.
- Confirm the purchase and check the recorded entry in your account history.
The central registration of the entry is important. FDJ's account rules make an entry irrevocable once it is recorded and the stake is debited. A mistaken choice should not be treated like an online shopping order that can necessarily be returned.
Prices and optional extras
The standard Loto entry is €2.20. A standard EuroMillions entry with My Million is €2.50. FDJ describes the My Million code as included in that price. The optional Étoile+ selection adds €1, making the corresponding EuroMillions purchase €3.50.
These amounts make it possible to distinguish the basic entry from an added feature. Multiple lines and repeated draws increase the total again. Compare the final basket with the choices you intended, rather than relying only on a starting price on a game page.
FDJ states that account registration is free. That does not mean entries are free, and it should not be expanded into an unsupported claim that every possible payment-provider charge is absent. Published funding options include bank transfer, Visa, Mastercard and PayPal, plus Apple Pay through the application.
Subscriptions and cancellation
FDJ offers fixed-duration subscriptions and the ongoing ABO+ service. They should not be described as interchangeable. The published draw-game rules allow an ABO+ subscription to be cancelled from the relevant account section.
That cancellation route does not make already registered entries reversible. If you prefer occasional purchases, inspect the selected duration carefully. If you prefer ongoing play, understand what the account will purchase next and retain the confirmation when changing the subscription.
Safety and regulatory position
The ANJ's description establishes FDJ's role in the French lottery market. It is a statutory monopoly arrangement, not a generic licence that gives any private website permission to sell every lottery worldwide. The operator, the territory and the game remain connected.
The banking conditions also have a narrower meaning than they may first suggest. An accepted bank account in another eligible country does not cancel the residence requirement. Complete the account checks with your actual circumstances rather than treating the list of banking countries as a list of customer markets.
Prizes and withdrawals
FDJ explains that online winnings are credited to the player account. A registered RIB or IBAN is needed for withdrawal to the associated bank account. The account guidance distinguishes winnings from money deposited for play; the latter should not be treated as an ordinary withdrawable balance.
An automatic transfer threshold can also be set. Keep that separate from any prize validation or account verification the operator requires. Retail ticket-claim thresholds are not automatically the withdrawal rules for an online account, so a shop-based prize guide can be misleading in this context.
Pros and cons
Advantages
- Official entries with published standard prices
- Account history and direct prize crediting
- Several documented funding methods and an ABO+ cancellation route
Limitations
- Residency and banking conditions limit access
- Accepted entries become irrevocable
- Deposits and winnings have different withdrawal treatment
Who it suits
FDJ suits eligible residents who want direct access to its official games, including EuroMillions and France's Loto. It does not offer general worldwide access. Our TheLotter review provides a comparison with a ticket intermediary, without implying identical prices, eligibility or customer rights.
Our verdict
FDJ's strength is the direct relationship between account, official entry and lottery operator. The decisions that matter are the selected options, recurring purchases and treatment of account funds. Check those details alongside residency eligibility before considering the service a match for your needs.
