Published
A single ticket sold in Florida won the estimated $800 million Mega Millions jackpot in the draw of Tuesday, July 28, 2026. The cash value of the prize was estimated at $344.2 million.
Where the ticket was sold
The Florida Lottery said the winning ticket was sold at a Wawa store on State Road 70 East in Bradenton, north of Sarasota on the Gulf coast. The ticket matched all five white balls, 34, 48, 49, 59 and 70, plus the Mega Ball 12.
A big year for the game
The win was the third Mega Millions jackpot of 2026 and ranks as the tenth largest jackpot in the game's history. Florida also holds the Mega Millions record: the $1.602 billion jackpot won in August 2023. Since joining the game in 2013, Florida has won or shared six Mega Millions jackpots.
Claim deadlines
In Florida, Mega Millions jackpot winners have 180 days from the draw to claim the prize. To receive the one time cash payment instead of the annuity, the claim must be filed within 60 days of the draw.
What it means for players
Mega Millions now costs $5 per play and every play includes a multiplier for non jackpot prizes. Jackpots change after every draw, so check the current amount before you play and set a budget you are comfortable with.
